Mixed Age Kindergarten (MAK) is an innovative concept that is becoming increasingly popular due to its wide range of benefits. When we have children of wider age range in a class it provides great advantages to the older children as well as the younger ones and stimulates each other’s development. There are a lot of emotional, social and educational benefits like developing leadership, tolerance, respect, caring and sharing. In this program children continue to develop their listening and speaking besides learning to read through sight words and games and early writing through pre-writing skills leading to writing letters and numbers. In Math they begin to identify and write numbers, sort shapes and learn to subitize. Senses are explored through various activities that help them become more aware of themselves and their surroundings. Self care leading to independence and Montessori activities.
